Roser Roofing Systems has introduced a new roofing technology in the Kenyan market.
The roofing system, imported from Korea, involves coating and devising steel metal sheets into light-weight stone-coated tiles with different colours and shapes to replace timber and other structural materials.
The system promises to cut housing costs.
“We have introduced a new system that is all weather tolerant and helps to bring down costs incurred while buying and using additional structural material in construction of a modern residential building,” said Roser Roofing Systems sales and marketing manager, Mr David Irungu.
Mr Irungu, who was speaking during the recently concluded Homes Expo in Nairobi, added that the new materials would boost efforts by property owners to harvest rain water.
“Our firm which enjoys ISO and Kebs certification has sent samples of water collected from the new roof to the Ministry of Water, which has given it a clean bill of health,” he said.
The tiles are designed to provide protection against strong winds, hail storm, and other adverse weather conditions, said Mr Irungu.
