Greenpark project now complete
06/04/2009 – Superior Homes (Kenya) Limited has successfully completed the construction of a 1,550 units housing project along Mombasa Road, aptly named Greenpark.
The project that has costed over Sh8 billion lies on a 500 acres piece of land to the east of Athi River and to the north of the Mombasa Highway, with panoramic views of the Ngong Hills.
Greenpark comprises five different house types three bedroom bungalow (with fourth bedroom as option), semi-detached units, maisonettes, low rise apartments and, finally, a small number of five and six bedroom luxury detached villas.
Good quality fixtures and fittings and a well trained and highly committed workforce ensured the highest standards of finish and every house has been subjected to a verification and quality audit.
Superior Homes (Kenya) Limited worked closely with Wall Ties & Forms Incorporated (WTF) of Kansas City, USA, to construct homes using the latest in American technology. High technology aluminium formwork building system ensured the very high standards of quality during construction.
All houses are built to exacting international standards, well appointed and decorated inside and out. Standard fixtures and fittings are included with every house sold to ensure that it is comfortable and ready for occupation. High quality fittings and other optional extras are marketed by a specialist division at extra cost and installed either ahead of tenant taking entry or at a future date.
Each cluster of around 200 houses is fenced, with one controlled entry and exit gate and a range of up to date security devices employed to ensure the integrity of the cluster and to identify intruders.New technology including closed circuit television, cameras, street lighting, alarms and sensor beams will be maintained by a dedicated, well equipped security team trained to the highest standards.
Greenpark cultivates a sense of neighbourhood where residents perceive advantage in looking after each other with zero tolerance approach to crime. The developer engaged the services of a leading security company in Kenya to advise and design a comprehensive security system.
Rigorous checks and procedures will be implemented in co-operation with the local police force to reduce the risk of theft and vandalism and Greenpark is expected to be recognised as one of the safest areas to bring up a family in Kenya.
As well as reliable water and underground electricity supplies, there are smooth roads, effective storm drainage and paved walkways. Nursery, primary and secondary schools will be constructed as the development rolls out and the new buildings will be leased to school operators with proven track records.
A health clinic, security post, community hall and a range of shops will be located within the district centre, which is centrally located a short distance from each cluster. Greenpark is strategically placed within a convenient transport infrastructure as the Nairobi city centre is less than a 30-minute drive away.
