WATCH: JCB’s Next-Gen 4CX Pro Backhoe Loader in Action
The 4CX Pro is a high-spec machine designed to tackle the toughest jobs with ease.

One of the two models of JCB’s next-generation backhoes has been delivered to the yard of a long-standing family business in Ireland, showcasing its performance in a real-world setting.
Northern Irish groundworks contractor John Dan O’Hare, who has been loyal to the JCB brand since 1966, recently received the latest JCB 4CX Backhoe Loader — a high-spec machine designed to tackle the toughest jobs with ease.
Brian O’Hare, a director at the company, expressed confidence in the new 4CX Pro backhoe loader, highlighting its numerous advantages over previous models.
“We’ve been advised that if we were going for the 4CX Pro, it would be far better suited to the line of work we’re in,” he said.
Describing its features, he noted: “It’s a bigger machine — bigger wheels, more power. It’s a new machine with reverse drive, a lot of extras, and much more driver comfort.”
O’Hare concluded by saying they were eager to see it in action: “So it’s a very high-spec machine. We’re looking forward to getting it out on the job to see how it performs.”
The 4CX Pro features an 81kW engine, a 6.14m dig depth, and a shovel capacity of 1.2 cubic metres. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission, multiple steering modes, TorqueLock for fuel efficiency, and safety features like check valves, alarms, and a keypad immobiliser.
With equal-sized tyres, all-wheel steering, and strong traction, it’s built for tough sites with excellent digging and loading power. The upgraded cab adds comfort and connectivity with Bluetooth, ergonomic controls, and enhanced visibility.
This year, JCB launched its latest 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders, boasting enhanced on-road performance, a revamped excavator arm, and a cab built with operator comfort in mind.
