Case CX380E Excavator: ‘Built Like a Beast’ for Tough Jobs
The machine delivers more power with faster response times.

Case Construction Equipment has unveiled the CX380E, a powerful new excavator described as a “beast” built for tough jobs, improved fuel efficiency, and smarter controls.
The 37.7-tonne, 268-hp CX380E is the latest in Case’s E Series, built for heavy-duty tasks like land clearing, trenching, rock breaking, and pipe handling with smart hydraulics.
“Big jobs demand big machines, and the Case CX380E large excavator is exactly that,” said Terry Dolan, Head of CNH Construction Brands, North America.
“Built like a beast, it delivers more power and more torque with faster response times. But it also delivers big on the total operator control that our customers expect from Case.”
One of its standout features is its powerful hydraulic system. With 25,400 kilograms of breakout force and fast cycle times, the machine is built to move more material in less time.
Operators can tailor the machine’s performance with four work modes — Super Power, Power, Eco, and Lifting — each of which can be adjusted across 10 throttle settings.
Eco mode alone can reduce fuel use by up to 18 per cent compared to previous models. The machine is also equipped with advanced telematics that track fuel usage and performance metrics, giving both operators and fleet managers better insights into efficiency.
Inside the cab, Case has focused heavily on comfort and customisation. The CX380E includes a 25-centimetre touchscreen where operators can save and access settings for up to ten attachments — one-way or two-way — enabling changes at the touch of a button.

Operators can also fine-tune how the machine responds, with adjustable sensitivity controls for different movements like swinging, lifting, and digging.
An intelligent Hydraulic Flow Control Balance system ensures the machine responds precisely and efficiently, automatically prioritising movements like “arm in” and “boom up” based on what’s needed in the moment.
Selectable free swing functionality gives more control when placing swinging loads or working on uneven ground, adding to both safety and precision.
A 270-degree camera system provides a bird’s-eye view of the surroundings via the display screen, improving visibility around the machine.
“Operators work hard, so creating an operator-first experience to help fight fatigue and increase efficiency is a priority in every new Case machine,” said Dolan.
“We designed the CX380E cab with automotive-like features, with heated, air-suspension seating and lots of legroom. A suspended operator station locks the seat and console together so that no matter the operator’s size.”
Serviceability has also received a boost. The CX380E’s advanced telematics allow dealers to run diagnostics and install software updates remotely — no need for a technician to visit the site. That means less downtime, fewer maintenance delays, and more hours of productivity.
With its power, adaptability, and user-friendly design, the CX380E is aimed at contractors who need high performance without compromising on fuel economy or operator comfort.
