The redesign enhances comfort, safety, and visibility.

John Deere has launched a new line of backhoe loaders featuring major cab upgrades and, according to the company, the industry’s first factory-installed rear camera system.

The five redesigned models—310 G-Tier, 310 P-Tier, 320 P-Tier, 410 P-Tier, and 710 P-Tier—were officially introduced during Deere’s 2025 Construction Field Days event in Sacaton, Arizona. The 210 tractor loader models remain unchanged.

The redesigned machines place a strong emphasis on operator comfort, safety, and visibility, according to John Deere.

“What’s new is the entire cab structure, completely redesigned from top to bottom,” said Emily Pagura, product marketing manager, during the product preview.

“What’s not changing is the heartbeat of this machine – the engine, transmission, hydraulic system and all of the components that make this a durable, reliable machine with strong performance.”

Among the most notable changes is a completely reworked cab. Deere has reduced the number of side posts from two to one, improving visibility around the machine, especially during truck loading and trenching work.

Operators will appreciate an overhead rear window that folds upward in the style of an excavator, designed to reduce the risk of breakage and give a clearer view when digging in confined areas.

A key highlight of the backhoes is the introduction of a factory-fitted rear camera system, a first in the industry. Two cameras are mounted at the rear corners of the cab, feeding video to a dedicated 8-inch touchscreen display inside.

“The operator can change the view, so if they want to see just the left side or just the right side, they can do that,” Pagura explained. “Or if they want to stitch them together, the system edits out the rear structure so you’re getting a good, wide feel of what’s happening.”

LED lighting has also been upgraded. The new models come with brighter LED work lights and turn signals, enhancing visibility in darker conditions and during night operations.

John Deere has made the cab more spacious for operators. The area around the swivel seat is 5 inches wider, making it easier for operators to move between digging and loading.

There is now an option for a heated and cooled seat, along with a better air system that blows 10% more air for added operator comfort.

The backhoe refresh is part of Deere’s continued efforts to modernise its construction equipment line-up, keeping pace with changing operator demands and job site conditions.

The new backhoes are expected to roll out to markets later this year.
