JCB has raised the bar for compact machinery with its new 109-horsepower 400T compact track loader (CTL) and 4TS tracked Teleskid, designed to tackle tougher jobs with more power, torque and hydraulic flow than ever before.

For years, JCB’s compact loaders topped out at 74 horsepower, balancing performance with emissions compliance.

“The consistent feedback was … we need more horsepower,” said Lee Tice, Product Manager at JCB. “We need more hydraulic flow, more push power, all these things. So that’s what really prompted this.”

The 4TS Teleskid, featuring a 15-foot telescopic boom and 8-foot forward reach, can lift, grade, trench and load, potentially replacing a compact telehandler on many jobsites.

Its low-leak valve body prevents boom drift, allowing precise material handling even at full extension.

“The 4TS Teleskid bridges the gap between compact and capability,” Tice said. “It’s the ultimate all-in-one machine for contractors who need to get more done with less equipment.”

The 400T CTL handles the most challenging applications, from forestry to snow and land management. With an operating weight of 12,544 pounds and hydraulic capacity topping 40 gallons per minute at 4,000 psi, even tough attachments like drum mulchers work with ease.

“When you need equipment that works as hard as you do, the 400T is the answer,” Tice added. “With its increased engine and hydraulic performance, it’s a true workhorse built for operators tackling the most challenging applications.”

Despite the boost in power and torque, both machines retain a compact profile similar to the 3TS, with a roof height of six feet and a width of 6.5 feet.

The undercarriage was extended by seven inches to accommodate Tier 4 Final aftertreatment components, including diesel exhaust fluid and a particulate filter.

Developed at JCB’s North American headquarters in Savannah, Georgia, the 4TS and 400T are now available at dealerships across North America, offering operators versatile, high-performance options to streamline fleets and maximise productivity.
