Italy-based equipment maker New Holland has unveiled a fully electric version of its mini track loader, the C314X, advancing its push toward sustainable machinery.

Currently in the prototype phase, the C314X is powered by a 23.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that drives three electric motors – two for propulsion and one for hydraulics.

The company describes the model as the “zero-emissions evolution” of its diesel-powered C314, which was released in 2023 as New Holland’s only stand-on track loader.

The new machine delivers the performance and manoeuvrability of a conventional mini track loader while providing the benefits of an electric drive system. These include zero emissions, lower noise levels, immediate drive and hydraulic response, and a reduced carbon footprint.

According to New Holland, the C314X matches its diesel counterpart across multiple applications, attachments, and environmental conditions.

The electric model also offers lower total cost of ownership due to reduced maintenance, the efficiency of electric power over fuel, and no energy consumption when idle.

The C314X offers 1,014 lbs capacity and 7.2-ft hinge pin height. Both diesel and electric variants use a radial-lift boom design and are available in narrow- or wide-track configurations.

Compact and powerful, the machine has responsive controls and ergonomic joysticks and is perfect for contractors, construction and farming with multiple attachments.

C314X orders open in Europe by year-end and deliveries start spring 2026. The loader will debut at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas next March, followed by North American deliveries.

In addition to the C314X, New Holland announced a methane hybrid telehandler prototype. Initial testing has shown up to 70% energy savings compared with diesel equivalents, alongside 30% better performance and autonomy in typical material handling operations.

A production date has not been confirmed.

The C314X builds on New Holland’s electric innovations, including the EX15 mini excavator and T4 Electric utility tractor, expanding its lineup of alternative-powered equipment.
