SIB Starts Works on Sh3bn Westlands Office Tower
SIB joins firms reshaping Nairobi’s commercial skyline with towers.

Standard Investment Bank (SIB) has entered the construction phase of its Sh3 billion headquarters in Westlands, Nairobi, marking the latest move by local financial institutions to develop purpose-built office assets outside the city centre.
Construction hoarding has been erected along Westlands Road, signalling the start of works on the SIB International Centre, a 32-storey glass-clad tower that will consolidate the investment bank’s operations under one roof.
Located near the junction of Ring Road Parklands and Lower Kabete Road, opposite Sarit Centre, the project follows a groundbreaking ceremony held in December 2025.
The tower is expected to become one of the prominent additions to Westlands’ growing commercial skyline, an area that has increasingly attracted corporate headquarters and premium office developments.

SIB founder and Managing Director James Wangunyu said the project represents more than a new workplace, describing it as a long-term investment in Kenya’s financial sector.
“We are not simply breaking ground for a new building; we are laying the cornerstone for the next generation of excellence in Kenyan and African investment banking,” Mr Wangunyu said.

The building will host the bank’s core operations, including investment advisory teams, wealth management specialists and trading desks, providing a centralised environment as the firm expands its services.
“As these walls rise, and the apex of this building is achieved, so too must our ambition to build not just a head office, but a headway for the next generation of African financiers, innovators, and visionaries,” he added.
Upon completion, the SIB International Centre is expected to strengthen SIB’s position as one of Kenya’s home-grown financial institutions investing in long-term infrastructure to support regional growth.
